Lara joined The Project Academy in 2010 and loved it so much she became co-owner! Lara has been in the project management profession for over 2 decades and has had the opportunity to work on a variety of complex projects at all stages of the lifecycle. She combines excellent interpersonal skills with a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of the profession. This has resulted in her effective delivery of projects in extremely challenging commercial and political environments including London Underground’s delivery of PFI works (over 700 items) estimated at over £1.3 billion.
On becoming Transport for London’s Head of Profession, Lara designed and implemented a PPM academy. She created a PPM community of over 1500, assessed their capability against a competency framework aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge. She designed a portfolio of targeted development opportunities at all levels, delivered over 1400 training places, including the attainment of over 500 APM qualifications and increased PPM capability and cost savings on major projects.
Lara has the led the delivery of a number of solutions at The Project Academy including the Government’s Project Leadership Programme (PLP) with partners Cranfield University, a PPM Pathway with the National Trust and coaching programmes for 100s of individuals. Lara has worked closely with the APM since 2006, delivering a vital assignment for the APM to enable Shell to adopt RPP as their global benchmark standard, chaired the APM’s Competency and Continued Professional Development (C&CPD) Panel and co-author of the APM’s Competency Framework (first edition).
Accreditations include: Fellow of the APM, APM Registered Project Professional, Neuro-linguistic Programming Practitioner, Hogan Certified Assessor.
