The Project Academy supports Shell gain APM Chartership Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that our long-term client, Shell Project Academy (SPA), have achieved a Recognised Assessment to Chartered – ChPP status with the Association for Project Management (APM). Project professionals undertaking Shell’s Level 2 development pathway have completed one of three routes available, route 2, which is for those who have a recognised assessment for technical knowledge and professional practice.

The Project Academy team analysed the Shell development and assessment programmes, then mapped these to the ChPP standard. Working with the SPA team, we created a compelling application to the APM who then undertook an independent quality assessment.

We have worked with Shell for many years supporting key elements of its assessment and accreditation process. Our online competency system supports over 3,000 global project professional assess their skills, gather competence evidence and supports Shell’s rigorous assessment process. We have also supported Shell and the APM create a bespoke pathway to Registered Project Professional (RPP). With the new Chartership “Route 2” accreditation, Shell’s project professionals can apply for a much shorter route to Chartership.

Academy director, Paul Erricker, commented “Shell has been able to demonstrate its ability to generate a strong projects community. Independent validation of development and assessment processes is key to driving up standards and building organisational success. We are delighted to have been part of Shell’s journey”.
